Launched in 1921 as a Grand Banks fishing and racing schooner, the Bluenose reigned over the North Atlantic and brought fame to her captain Angus Walters & his crew. In 1942 She was sold to the West Indies Trading Company & sailed as a supply ship during WWll until She was wrecked on a reef off the coast of Hati in 1946.
The Bluenose ll was launched in 1963 & has acted as Nova Scotia’s sailing ambassador ever since. Her image has graced the Canadian Dime since 1937 & now a silver dollar minted in 2021.
