Mention ‘The Tree’ and most HWY #102 traveler’s minds picture the symmetrically beautiful red oak tree that stood sentinel over the bank of the Shubenacadie River, approximately 30 km south of Truro NS, near exit 10. The Tree, has been a point of interest since the construction of HWY #102, started in 1958. (Where, because of the by-pass, constructed at Shubenacadie and Stewiacke in the 70’s), allowed us to view this beautiful spot)
“Though the mountains may fall and the hills turn to dust, yet the Love of the Lord will stand, as a shelter for all who will call on His name, sing the praise and the Glory of God!” song by Dan Schutte & New Dawn Music 1975.
